Father’s Day Gifts for Architects, Artists and Creatives
Father’s Day is around the corner and I have a few suggestions. Men are typically kind of hard to buy for, unless they play sports or are into sports in a big way. Then, of course, you have endless options. But if your guy wants something a little different, here are a few suggestions.
Also, these are some of my favorites too, so they aren’t just for Dads. ;)
This analog to-do list is just what we all need to get off of our phones and back to reality. Put this on your workspace with your top 5 things to do today and it is amazing how things actually get done. You can’t hide from the paper, standing straight up so you can read it from everywhere in the room. I just love this setup and use it myself. It comes in walnut and maple, to match any designer’s decor.
I have an obsession with both of these businesses, so when they announced their collaboration, I knew it was going to be great. Blackwing x Grovemade. A match made in designer heaven. This set has custom Blackwing pencils, a sharpener and a walnut stand (to match your analog to-do list, of course). It is pretty amazing. Check out Grovemade for desk and tech accessories too.
A little Bellroy pencil case is a great addition to any architect’s toolbox. It can hold many pencils and pens and opens up wide so you can see what is inside. It comes in many colors, but I would recommend black.
Every architect should have this book - Serpentine Gallery Pavilions. This edition covers the 2000-2010 Pavilions. Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry and SANAA are just a few of the architects. They are so lovely and inspirational for any designer.
This is the one I want…. a record player! Or as they say in 2022, a turntable. I still have some vinyl albums and the sound is so nostalgic. Also, you can’t skip songs very easily so it is relaxing to just sit and listen to an entire side without giving it another thought. This one from West Elm comes in walnut for consistency. You know me.
Enjoy this Father’s Day or just make any day special. I lost my dad many years ago and wish I could have given him some of these things. He probably would have chuckled at the turntable.
